Meet the team

Jacques & Sumaré are a dynamic duo, general practitioners passionate about serving the Kogelberg community. They enjoy the outdoors, especially hiking, with Jacques, an amateur videographer, documenting their adventures. Sumaré is an amateur violinist. They are eager to offer personalized medical care and contribute to the community through both their work and artistic pursuits. Their life is a harmonious blend of medicine, nature, and creativity, with a shared desire to make a meaningful impact on those around them.

Meet Jacques

Jacques obtained his MBChB cum laude from Stellenbosch University in 2021. He then completed his internship in East London, followed by his community service at Robertson District Hospital, where he gained comprehensive exposure to all areas of medical care

He has a keen interest in orthopaedics, anaesthetics, sonography, and minor surgical procedures. To further enhance his skills, he has successfully completed the following certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, EMOVA, Safe anaesthesia and ePOCUS.

From a young age, Jacques developed a deep appreciation for nature and videography during visits to his grandparents in Betty’s Bay, fostering a strong connection to the Kogelberg area.

Meet Sumaré

Sumaré completed her MBChB cum laude at Stellenbosch University in 2021. She completed her internship in East London before serving her community service year at Robertson District Hospital, where she developed a passion for internal medicine.

She also holds a Diploma in HIV Management and has a keen interest in internal medicine, geriatrics, pain management, and palliative care. To further expand her expertise, she has completed several certifications, including: BLS, ACLS, PALS, EMOVA, e-POCUS, Emergency Medicine Course & SAFE anaesthesia.

Originally from Kleinmond, Sumaré is passionate about both medicine and music. She teaches violin ensemble at the Handevat Music Project, where she shares her love for music. Additionally, she has a deep appreciation for nature and a strong connection to the Kogelberg area.
